With everything going on, 2020 has brought me a lot of reflection and strive for growth.
It has also made me take time to stop, listen and learn more about the injustices and inequality those in the Black community are facing. It has shown me that together, we can drive the change that is desperately needed.
With that, I am so excited to partner with my friend Lisa, and her company Oak and Oliver Candle Co. Together we are launching a campaign to help fight for equality within our own community.
20% of the profits from both our Birdsnest Sansevieria and Oak and Oliver’s “This Little Light of Mine” candle will be donated to the Boys & Girls Club of the Sandhills. Both of these can be found inside The Estate of Things in downtown Southern Pines.
The Birdsnest Sansevieria symbolized strength and resilience. Our community is like a plant - we must nourish it and show love, for it to grow. I urge everyone to take a moment to listen and reflect, so that we all can move forward in building a strong and loving community, together.
